Description
Laser Drive 103-23 HeNe laser power supply brick for 0.5 to 2 mW (633 nm - red
) tubes that runs on 21 to 31 VDC with 4-8 inch leads for input and output wiring determined by option.
The output current is fixed at 3.5 mA.
The following options are available:
Power supply brick with 4-8 inch leads for output.
A ballast resistor of 75-100K ohms will be required to power a tube.
Power supply brick with 4-8 inch leads for output and short Alden cable.
A short female Alden cable will be included but may not be attached - some soldering and insulating may be required. This option would be useful where it is intended to power a small HeNe laser head with internal ballast and male Alden cable.
Power supply brick with tube mounts and ballast resistor for output.
The mounts will accommodate tubes less than around 1.1 inches in diameter. The ballast is 80k-90K ohms and suitable for most tubes compatible with this power supply. The tube mounts are intended for a tube with anode-end output. If your tube's output is from the cathode-end, a hole will need to be drilled in the plastic of the cathode-end mount.
DO NOT flip the tube around, that may ruin it quickly.
Power supply brick with tube mounts for output attached with male and female Alden connectors.
This would be useful where it is desired to be able to disconnect the tube easily, or to be able to power a tube and head at different times.
Tube mounts with Male Alden connector and 80k-90k ohm ballast ONLY.
These will hold a tube up to about 1.1 inches in diameter with a ballast which should be suitable for most red HeNe laser tubes up to around 2 mW. It is wired for anode-end beam output. The mounts can be rewired (screw terminals) for cathode-end output or a hole can be easily drilled to allow a cathode-end beam to escape.
DO NOT flip the tube around, that may ruin it quickly.
Male Alden connector with 80k-90k ohm ballast ONLY
:
Wire leads terminated with ring lugs
for use with your own mounts.
Tube mounts ONLY
: Screw terminals for connections. One has a hole for the beam to exit.
The wiring diagram shows the connections for the power supply and tube. Pay particular note to the anode and cathode connections. Reversing them will like ruin the tube in a short time. The
template may be printed at full size as a guide to drilling holes for securing the tube mounts
.
These power supplies are most useful for use with the typical 5-8 inch barcode scanner HeNe laser tube, or a laser head with a similar tube inside like a JDSU 1107 or 1108.
The laser tube or head is NOT included.
However, high mileage tubes may require more than 3.5 mA to stay lit. If this is intended as a replacement, the tube may have killed the power supply and it will just happen again. Check my other listings for possible alternatives.
Used but tested and guaranteed. The label on some of the bricks is blackened/discolored but they will work just fine and have been tested.
The input is 21-31 VDC at around 0.5 amp. 24 VDC recommended.
Many of these are available - inquire for availability and a deal. :)
